On February 12, 2021 Accion Group, LLC, the Independent Administrator of the Competitive Procurement of Renewable Energy (“CPRE”) program for the North Carolina Utilities Commission, filed their final report regarding the second Tranche of the program. This concludes the second of three imagined phases of the CPRE program, and resulted in 664.4 MW of renewable solar PV projects contracting with Duke Energy Carolinas and Duke Energy Progress. The projects represent nominal savings of $98.663 million for ratepayers over 20 years.
Finalist projects had previously been selected by Accion Group and recommended for contract in July, 2020.
